“With the financial support of the Bulgarian state and as part of a project implemented by the ‘Bulgarians in Albania’ association, gifts were handed out to children from Gora and Golloborda for the end-of-year holidays.”

A large part of Albania’s Bulgarian national minority lives in these two regions. The gifts were handed out in the presence of Ivaylo Kirov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, and Asen Pačev, Head of the Public Diplomacy Section at the embassy.

This year’s initiative, hailed by the municipalities of Kukës and Bulqiza, highlighted the Bulgarian state’s policy of equal treatment for all children, with every student receiving gifts regardless of their parents’ minority affiliation. The gift distribution in Ostreni i Madh (Golloborda) was attended by the Mayor of Bulqiza, Festime Miesthri, and both the embassy and the municipality expressed their commitment to continue collaboration and implement new joint projects.

The gift distribution ceremony in the Gora region was organized at the recently renovated school in Borje, funded by the Bulgarian government, with the Deputy Mayor of Kukës, Mr. Agron Nuredinaj, in attendance. As part of the “End-of-Year Festivities in a Bulgarian tradition” project, 1,400 children received gifts, including sweets from the Bulgarian company “Day and Night,” which are part of the gift packages every year, delighting the children.
