The two ministers affirmed that the Fourth Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, in Riyadh, on 21-23 March 2022, is a good opportunity to fully assess our bilateral relations and to identify concrete opportunities to carry them forward. In this context, both interlocutors underlined the importance of moving forward with further completion of the legal framework and intensifying high-level visits between the two countries.

The counterparts shared the opinion that the good cooperation that exists between the two parties as part of international organizations should continue in the future in the interest of both countries.
This cooperation is of high importance now that Albania, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, pays special attention to developments in the Middle East Region. In this context, Minister Xhaçka acquainted her counterpart with Albania’s priorities in the framework of the UN Security Council.

“Albania will work closely with Saudi Arabia in UN Security Council for peace and security in the Middle East,” Xhaçka said during the meeting.

After Saudi Arabia, Xhaçka will travel to the United Arab Emirates.
