During the meeting, Mayor Veliaj tabled the idea of establishing an Academy for Tourism Excellence to cope with the incredible visitors’ influx to Albania and to the region.

“I would like to thank you the whole team, sharing at the same time the good news. Just like we did by opening the College of Europe here in Tirana, we have come up with the idea of establishing an Academy of Tourism Excellence. Albania is experiencing an incredible tourism boom and we need to handle the growing number of visitors,” Mayor Veliaj said.

He said that it is time that by building on the example of the College of Europe, countries in the region should also cooperate for the staffs of excellence that will manage tourism business, which is increasingly becoming a blessing for Albania and the entire region.

Tourism Minister underlined that Tirana has delivered on its year-round tourism target, underlining that the Albanian capital is now the venue where everyone wishes to organize their events as the city has it all.
