NAIS announced on Wednesday that the project has been officially nominated for the WSIS prizes in the AL C7, e-Government category.

The adaptation of Albanian legislation to the EU acquis comes at a time when Albania is fast-tracking the accession negotiations process with the European Union as the country is pushing for the opening of more clusters of EU accession negotiations after launching two first clusters.

Integrating the artificial intelligence into automating key legislative harmonization tasks would speed up the process that has taken several years, time and energy for other candidate countries to complete.

Albania has agreed with the European Commission to open all the accession negotiation chapters within this year and wrap up the entire process by 2027 to allow the country become a full-fledged EU member by 2030.

This AI-powered system, developed within the European integration and membership platform, is being used by more than 1400 integration experts on daily basis. It operates within a secure environment that meets the highest data protection and cybersecurity standards.

The project plays a crucial role in aligning Albania’s legal framework with EU regulations, significantly accelerating the transposition of over 4,000 legislative and sub-legislative acts, as the country aims at completing the negotiations on 27 chapters in just seven months’ time, a process that has taken seven years to complete in Croatia.
