While the major infrastructure implementation project is in the pipeline, work has begun on the axes that connect the city ring with the construction site of Automotive Park (AMP) which will house the new regional complex of Regional Road Transport Service Directorate Elbasan and the new Testing Centre , the first RETRO Museum, the first track of auto racing certified by FIA and other multifunctional educational and recreational structures along the new riverfront promenade, for cycling and sports against the green backdrop of Krasta,” says Rama.

The first Albanian circuit will have a 5 km track and encompass an area of over 500 thousand m2 in the city of Elbasan according to the standards of FIA, FIM and CIK. It will include event centre, museum and atelier RETRO, drag strip at a length of 1.2 km in line with safety requirements, racetrack and kart track, motorsport academy and road safety education academy, professional testing grounds, off-road track, helipad and ultralight aircraft sports area.

The project will be funded by General Directorate for Road Transport Service -MoIE in cooperation with the municipality of Elbasan and with the support of the Albanian government.
