This initiative seeks to convert the existing dilapidated residences into modern and exclusive facilities, thereby elevating the tourism appeal of the respective locations and repurposing them as venues for hosting distinguished figures from the spheres of politics, culture, the arts, and global enterprise—while maintaining state ownership.
The winning project for the Velipoja residence, proposed by Saunders Studio, was praised for its approach to preserving the identity and surrounding nature through a design that blends the old with the new. Particular emphasis was placed on the concept of the vertical tower and the opening of the residence to the community for public events.

Among four design proposals submitted for the Vlora residence, the project by Practica studio was recognized for its seamless integration of landscape and architecture, utilizing terraces to link the building with its natural surroundings. The jury praised the thorough research and innovative approach to the site.

Hospitality Albania is a government initiative aimed at transforming state assets with high potential into elite hospitality and tourism centers, contributing to sustainable economic development and the international promotion of Albania as a luxury travel destination.

The presentation of the second-phase finalists’ project proposals took place at a special event attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama and an international jury of experts specializing in architecture.
