TIRANA, October 8 /ATA/ – “Arbëri” is a family winery in Rrëshen that makes great wine from traditional Albanian grapes.

For over 25 years, the Kaçorri family has contributed to the agricultural sector and represented Albanian wine in international markets and events.

Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on social media today that, alongside wine production, the “Arbëri” winery also operates an agritourism business, blending tradition, local produce and hospitality into a unique experience for visitors.

Rama noted that, “Through support from the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDA)—via the National Investment Scheme and the IPARD Program—the winery has received backing for investments to develop its operations and enhance its capacity.”

Backed by the National Scheme through ARDA, the investment funded the construction of agritourism facilities, wine collection and storage areas as well as the tasting rooms. Parallel support from the IPARD program enabled vineyard expansion and the procurement of modern agricultural machinery, significantly strengthening the estate’s production capacity.

The “Arbëri” winery has been a staple in both domestic and international markets for over 25 years,” noted founder Fran Kaçorri. “While we focus heavily on indigenous grape varieties like Shesh i Bardhë and Shesh i Zi, Kallmet remains our flagship variety and the ultimate backbone of our wine production.”

He noted that the expansion of production capacity at the winery and the growth of its agritourism facilities created a need for new investments, including the installation of photovoltaic panels.

According to Kaçorri, the support for this investment has helped increase operational capacity and improve conditions for the development of agritourism.

Through its soft loan financing scheme—backed by the Sovereign Guarantee and the Mountain Areas Package—the Albanian government encourages agritourism investments aimed at expansion, modernization and local economic development. /e.i/r.e/a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, September 28 /ATA/ –Caco family has turned their passion for grape cultivation and processing into a genuine success story, establishing an enterprise that carries on the family’s winemaking tradition.

Prime Minister Edi Rama stated in a social media post that the “Caco” winery, located in Grabovica, Pogradec, is an enterprise focused on wine production and processing, combining tradition with technological investments and modern equipment.

Rama noted that, “Through the 2025 National Investment Scheme, the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency has supported the Caco Winery with funding for its processing line, providing a new opportunity for the development and expansion of its operations.

Ersol Caco, a member of the family managing the winery, explains that the venture began with the need to process grapes grown on a small vineyard plot, eventually evolving into both a passion and a family business.

“Our focus has always been quality. The Agricultural and Rural Development Agency joined us on this journey, supporting us with machinery and technology to ensure the highest possible quality and consistent standards,” said Caco.

According to him, the support for equipment and technology is accompanied by new projects to expand operations. Currently, the winery is working on producing sparkling wine—a product that requires different machinery and technological processes compared to those used for still wine.

The “Caco” winery received support through Agricultural and Rural Development Agency’s 2025 National Investment Scheme, securing funding for the processing line; investments also covered labeling equipment and other processes essential to wine production.

These investments aim to streamline workflows and raise production standards, enabling the business to expand its operations and develop new products.

TIRANA, April 28/ATA/ Mirdita-based Arbëri Winery, a Kaçorri family enterprise, is well-known for its production of indigenous wine.

The wine produced from this winery has already received attention from prestigious foreign media, which have rated the “Arbëri” winery with the highest quality points, giving a reputation not only to this Albanian enterprise, but also to Albania, in the world.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared in the social media a view of the “Arbëri” winery, where Kaçorri family with a quarter-century of dedication has elevated Albanian viticulture and showcased our native wines on the international stage.

“Supported by Agriculture and Rural Development Agency through the National Scheme, the investment has included the construction of agri-tourism, wine collection and storage facilities, as well as the creation of tasting facilities. Meanwhile, the IPARD program has financed the expansion of vineyards and investment in agricultural mechanics, strengthening the production base”, Rama emphasized.

Rama added that, “Inspired by the tradition of Mirdita towers, where a friend has always found hospitality being under the family’s protection, bread, salt and heart, in “Arbëri” winery the visitors also find “Bread and Wine””.

The vineyards built in Bukëmira area, Mirdita are among the first plantations built with European standards, under the expertise of foreign experts, cultivating indigenous Albanian varieties such as “Kallmeti” and “Sheshi i Bardhë”.

The Albanian government is promoting agri-tourism investment with favourable financing—including 2% interest loans and high collateral coverage—to modernize local businesses and boost the economy. /j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, January 16 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anila Denaj visited the “Belba Winery” in Kavaja, which offers a unique taste of wine, produced from the autochthonous variety of grapes in Central Albania.

Denaj focused on the positive trend that is taking the development of the wine industry in our country.

“Today, it should not be just a bottle of wine, but a brand, a label that shows indigenous production, quality worthy of elite markets”, said the minister.

Writing in a post in the social media, Denaj highlighted the example of this investment as a model for setting up new ventures in this sector that are diversifying rural development, agri-tourism, generating production, engagement in work and more income for local economies.

“Belba winery is a story of passion for wine that combines in the most perfect way the Italian tradition and experience with the climate and varieties of Albanian grapes”, said Denaj.

While the representative of the winery indicated that he established the “Belba Winery” after a 12-year experience in Italy.

“In 2000, together with my two brothers, we decided to materialize the experience gained in Italy into an investment that is today our business. Viticulture production in this area is favored by the suitable climate and terrain. We started with 2 ha of vineyard land, while today we have 27 ha of vineyard land and we produce almost 900 quintal of grapes”, he said.

At present, Belba winery exports wine to Belgium, America and Italy.

“Our aim is to produce quality wine and expand exports, as we have planned to build an agri-tourism point, which adds value to the business of wine production”, said the representative of “Belba Winery”. /p.s./

The new agritourism enterprise and the attached winery, where a range of local Albanian wine are being experimented, is another business project benefiting from the government support through the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency and the IPARD II programme.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Rural Frida Krifca on Sunday posted a gallery of pictures showing the winery and describing it as one of the most beautiful getaways for the wine admirers in particular.

Sustainable agritourism and rural development is a government top priority as an opportunity to spur economic growth, employment and revenue in the country’s rural areas.

“Albanian viticulture never ceases to amaze. Here at Cassar winery, in addition to wine tasting, you can enjoy nature among the vineyard plots,” Agriculture Minister said.

TIRANA, September 30 /ATA/ Citizens and tourists have the opportunity to visit the “Isak Canteen” in Delvina, which has already turned into an agro-tourism point, where, in addition to quality wine, there are offered various traditional dishes with products from the area.

Prime Minister Edi Rama published photos from this canteen on social networks saying that, “In Delvina, you will find one of the canteens with good Albanian wine”.

“Isak Canteen”, now also an agro-tourism spot with local products of the area, has followed the tradition in planting vineyards with autochthonous varieties with about 9 kinds of wines and full of grape by-products, offering them to tourists”, emphasized Rama.

The support for agri-tourism and the “100 Villages” program have encouraged investors to build accommodation structures for visitors, who, together with nature, can now also enjoy traditional foods.

Through the rural development support program, it is aimed to highlight the traditional local products of each area, towards a consolidated local economy.

Financial support helps small producers increase production capacity, meet standards and ensure quality, to enable these products to be found everywhere. At the same time, rural areas are strengthened, through the orientation of investments in these areas. /j.p/r.e/p.s./

TIRANA, September 15 /ATA/ Albanian farmers and agri-business entrepreneurs continue to benefit funding support from the IPARD II scheme.

The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development said that sustainable investments are the main goal of the IPARD-II program. Through the fund provided by the European Union and the Albanian Government, there is built a new and modern infrastructure to compete in the international market with quality Albanian products.

The Agency published today on social networks photos from a new investment in the winery in Patos. It has been financed by the IPARD-II program which is one of the examples of the standardization of agricultural production, with European wine processing technology.

The entrepreneur of this business, Bledar, after an experience abroad, decided to set up a winery in his native country, continuing his father’s tradition.

He is the beneficiary of the second call, IPARD-II and now owns an area of 310 m2 planted with vineyards, while producing wine from his cellar, in a capacity of 36,000 liters, through processing and packaging equipment of contemporary technology.

Through financing of the Agency and the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, in Albania there is increased processing and storage capacity, as well as the amount of export over the years./p.s./
