He said that the hotspots have been localized in the village of Kacni and Qafë-Murrë where the air intervention is needed to put out the fire.

“On the fourth day of the operation to contain and put out the fire in the forest area of Kacni-Qafe Murrë, the administrative unit of Selishtë, other than the fire service crews of the forest sector at the municipality as well as volunteers of Qafë-Murrë and Murrë, on the spot are also military forces battling the blazes. Overnight the fire has abated due to lower temperatures,” Shehu said.

As to the other hotspot near these two villages, the blaze is very difficult to be brought under control due to dense vegetation.

“Therefore it is needed the air fire-fighting operation to minimise the risk for the residential areas of these villages,” Shehu told ATA. /j.p/sm/
