This year marked the seventh edition of the “Wheat Festival,” bringing together farmers, Myzeqe locals, and visitors from both Albania and abroad to enjoy this distinctive event, which has established itself as a cherished annual tradition.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the “Wheat Festival,” referring to Myzeqeja as the “Granary of Albania.”

The Wheat Festival preserves a heritage spanning thousands of years, evolving into a modern celebration that brings together work, culture, and community joy. As custodians of these longstanding traditions, this seventh edition pays tribute not only to the harvest and bread but also underscores Myzeqeja’s profound ties to history, culture, and identity.

FThe Wheat Festival is organized by the Fier Municipality through the Directorate of Art and Culture, with the support of the Albanian Development Fund, under the auspices of the Mayor of Fier, Armando Subashi.

What sets this festival apart is that every element is closely connected to wheat and bread—from the parades featuring over 400 girls adorned with wheat to the agricultural machinery procession, all celebrating the significance of wheat.

This traditional festival attracts a high number of visitors, reaching up to 4,000–5,000 attendees in a single evening.
