During the meeting Ahmetaj and Morton discussed the cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

“Along with the British Minister for Europe and Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Wendy Morton, discussed opportunities for redimensioning of cooperation between our two countries in reflection of the advancement of the Albania 2030 agenda, focusing on trade, investment, modernization of the economy to increase productivity and competitiveness, IT and digital society as well as education, aimed at twinning Albanian public universities with the best British ones,” Minister Ahmetaj said.

The main focus of the discussion were, the fight against organized crime and the increase of control capacities at border crossings.

“I received today in a meeting the Minister for European Neighbourhood and the Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, Wendy Morton. We discussed the cooperation between our two countries in the fight against organized crime, capacity building at border crossings and in particular in the port of Durres, as well as programs focused on preventing all forms of illegality.
