TIRANA, Nov 18 /ATA/ The Ministry of Defence reported today that the weather across the country is generally calm, with light to moderate rainfall and no major issues nationwide.
In the Shkodër district, heavy showers yesterday afternoon caused damage to the Breg Lumi–Theth road, leaving nine people and five vehicles stranded. Thanks to the timely response from local authorities, the State Police, and the Armed Forces, all those affected were safely evacuated. The road remains closed and is being cleared of debris, with ten Armed Forces personnel assisting.
Meanwhile, in the Fushë Arrëz municipality, strong winds have led to power outages.

In the Lezhë district, a fallen tree on the Lezhë–Shëngjin road has damaged power lines, causing a local electricity outage. On the Lezhë–Balldren route, debris has been reported, and operational teams are working to clear it.

No weather-related issues have been reported in other parts of the country.

The Military Weather Service forecasts scattered light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours. Showers are expected to intensify into thunderstorms in Shkodër, Vlorë, and Gjirokastër. From the afternoon through the early hours of the morning, heavy rain and lightning are also likely in Lezhë, Durrës, and Tirana. Fog and reduced visibility are expected in low-lying areas.

The Ministry of Defence and the National Civil Protection Agency are on full alert, coordinating efforts to deal with any potential impacts of the severe weather.

Civil Protection has urged residents in affected areas to contact local authorities if they encounter any problems.
