TIRANA, April 29 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, said that, “the normative act for the treatment of polluted waters by hotel entities operating along the coast, has been discussed in the parliamentary committees and with stakeholders, meanwhile its implementation has started with businesses in hotel service giving their consent.”

Balluku responded to the DP MP, Ilda Dhori, in today’s session of the Assembly, who raised some concerns regarding the water treatment plant that businesses should install for protection of bathing water.

Balluku said that the businesses have started to install these water treatment plants, consenting to abide by this decision in the runup to the tourist season.

“This initiative comes amid an increased influx of visitors and tourists and we have all agreed that despite the investments being made in the sewers, the hotel operators should install water treatment plants in order to protect the bathing waters and the coastline contributing to the smooth running of the tourist season”, said Balluku
According to her, the government has a public investment plan for the Divjaka area as well as for the whole of Albania, investments that will take their time to be completed.
