As part of protected areas, any intervention will be in line with environmental protection, such as embankments built of willow branches, according to the vision of sustainable development, also harnessing the tourism potential of the whole area.

Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, inspected on Tuesday the works that are being carried out in this park, which attracts thousands of visitors all year round.

This project allows visitors not only to walk on the Drilon pedestrian area, but through pedestrian crossings, to reach the springs of Drilon and Tushemisht.
The representative of the Albanian-American Foundation for Development (AADF), Bledi Hoxha, said that one of the novelties about this project is that it makes available more space for the influx of visitors. If today the visitors walk only on the pedestrian area and the lane in this part of the park, we want to go as far as to the springs of Drilon, to the part of Tushemisht and the hills and these are harmonized with one another. ”
According to him, the area for cars will be restricted.

“”We are building 3 large parking lots with a capacity of 600 cars. Who comes to park the car and access the whole area, about 170 ha will be carfree. The area will be accessed by bicycle, by boat, there may be some non-motor vehicles, electric vehicles that have limited speeds, which are also environmentally friendly, ” added Hoxha.

The ADF representative stated that “regarding the whole area there are 15 sub-projects, which are related to each other. At this stage AADF has undertaken to implement 7 of them. So 170 ha are divided into 15 sub-projects, which include the construction of the promenade, the intervention in the Drilon park that goes to the end, parking lots, a visitor center, several access roads, the intervention in the village of Tushemisht and the connectivity with one another. ”
