Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku said today that since March 12,324 families have received compensation for water bills.

12.5 million dollars in total have been disbursed in compensation by July.

Balluku stressed that there was 100% compensation for up to 5 m³/month.

Citizens belonging to categories in need can contact water supply and sanitation utilities for further information, the Deputy Prime Minister added.

As for the categories in need that are eligible for subsidy, they include families in need that have no income or insufficient income.

Orphans who are not in social care institutions.

Parents with more than 2 children born at the same time, belonging to families in need.

Victims of trafficking after leaving social care institutions, until the moment of their employment.

Victims of domestic violence for the period they are placed under the order of protection or restraining orders when they are not treated in social care institutions.
