According to sources from the Durrës Port Authority, “The ship “TCG Bayraktar” is part of two of the Bayraktar-class landing ship tanks of the Turkish Navy built in 2017 by the Anatolian shipyard to meet the operational requirements of the Turkish Naval Forces.

“Bayraktar-class warships are primarily intended for amphibious missions and the transport of troops and equipment, while their secondary missions include humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and medical aid and transport. This ship is 139 meters long and 20 meters wide. Meanwhile, “TCG Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Pasa” is one of the four ships of the Rhine class: Elbe, Donau, Isar and Ruhr which were transferred to the Turkish Navy in the 1980s,” same sources say.

“TCG Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Paşa” is 98 meters long and about 12 meters wide. Currently, these warships are used mainly for exercise purposes of the Turkish Naval Academy but also in the service of the Turkish Naval Forces. “TCG Bayraktar” and “TCG Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Pasa” visit our country for a six-day stay in the framework of a joint open sea exercise as part of the training programs of the Turkish Maritime Academy,” according to the Durrës Port Authority.
