TIRANA, Feb 21 /ATA/ – Warmer temperatures on Saturday brought renewed activity to Albania’s coastal city of Vlora, as residents and visitors took advantage of sunny conditions after a period of colder weather.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage from the city, showing people enjoying the sunshine in various areas along the waterfront.

Vlora is one of Albania’s key tourist destinations, offering a range of cultural and natural attractions. In addition to the beaches along the Bay of Vlora, the island of Sazan and the Karaburun peninsula are popular destinations for domestic and foreign tourists, who depart on sightseeing boats from Vlora’s port.

Recent infrastructure projects include the Lungomare 3 development along the Radhima axis, where new breakwaters have been constructed to help expand beaches by redirecting wave patterns, alongside a new seaside promenade.

The projects have been described by authorities as strategic investments aimed at expanding high-quality tourism in the area.

Officials say the upgrades also pave the way for the continuation of Lungomare 4 in the Orikum area, a development that would make Vlora home to the longest seaside promenade in the Mediterranean.
