TIRANA, Aug 31 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister Erion Braçe said on Tuesday that the longest drawn out war, that in Afghanistan, has come to an end with Albania making its contribution.

“The longest drawn out war that was ours too has ended! This is the last soldier that departed from Afghanistan today! The picture speaks for itself! There are two things I want to add; The importance of being coherent in politics; “Above all in decision-making!,” Braçe said.

“Barack Obama entered the White House in 2009 with a firm stand against the war in Iraq and voiced the intention of withdrawing the army from Afghanistan; In 2009! They are not my wars and there will be no more American troops killed, he said. He failed to pull the troops out from there amid a complicated situation and the constant opposition from his commanders! “But he never gave up on his goal,” said Braçe.

“Joe Biden was the vice president at the time that took the same stand opposing the commanders and supporting the withdrawal from Afghanistan as soon as possible! He did it today! He ended a 20-year war, coherent in his purpose and decision; But all that at a cost, that of American soldiers killed just four days ago, the last war heroes there! “He ended the war, but could not prevent its last victims, what they both stood up for,” he said.

“Albania has its heroes in that war and they deserve to be remembered today; Feti Vogli is the military who fell in the line of duty there, near the two schools that were expected to be opened under his responsibility! From Feti Vogli to the open doors for several thousand Afghans, women and girls above all in Albania, one thing really matters: To be coherent and on the right side of history! The war ended today; The good ones will be remembered forever! ”Brace said. /j.p/sm/
