“France and Germany have made a guiding proposal and I think it is solid and good. We expect it to be respected by both parties. I think it is Vucic’s responsibility to unequivocally condemn the acts of September 24, because it contributes to the restoration of calm on the border,” said Macron during the joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama in Tirana.
President Macron also requested repetition of elections in the municipalities in the north.

“What we expect from the authorities of Kosovo and Serbia is simple, repetition of elections in the municipalities where the elections fell short of the standards, the participation of Serbs in these elections and in institutions, and the recognition of the association of Serbian municipalities by the Kosovo authorities. I expect Vucic to be responsible, I expect the same from the Kosovo president and prime minister. I have made it clear: we trusted them on the issue of visas, the issue has been suspended by France, because it has to do with honoring the word given and the word is not being honored. I expect both sides to commit to moving forward in the coming weeks. It is the condition for peace in the entire area,” Macron said.
