PEI has been successfully used in three previous general and partial elections in the country.

The Directorate of Civil Registry has released the preliminary extract of Albania’s voter registry for the May 11 parliamentary elections, listing 3,721,116 eligible voters, including Albanians residing abroad.

For the first time, two separate voter lists will be used: one for residents within Albania and another for those voting from abroad. The May 11 election marks the first time Albanians living abroad can vote from their countries of residence.
