Through a social media post, Minister Balla declared that the last barrier to the historic vote has been removed.

Balla stated, “The Albanian Parliament has recently approved amendments to the Electoral Code, which include covering the costs by the CEC for sending and returning ballot papers and other informative materials by mail; extending the candidate registration deadline to 60 days to provide more time for the mailing process; as well as establishing procedures for counting and evaluating out of country votes, appeals, and other related matters.”

Therefore, Balla continued, “Please register at www.kqz.gov.al.”

The Parliament passed the amendments to the Electoral Code with 108 votes in favour, including votes from the opposition, which had previously requested the use of documents from the country where emigrants reside for voting. /k.s/j.p/sm/
