“It’s amazing to see what has been built so far. I think that this is a very good symbol of the friendship that we, the EU and Albania, have built. “But it is also a symbol of the future, of the youth that Albania will have,” Von der Leyen said.

President of the EC together with Deputy PM, also Minister of State for Reconstruction, unveiled the plaque to inaugurate the “Europa” kindergarten.

Ahmetaj informed that in total there are 63 schools built in the light of EU4Schools program funded by the European Commission and implemented by UNDP.

Ahmetaj went on saying that the “Europa” kindergarten numbers 30 children, while about 210 children will learn this new school year in the revitalized school “Korb Muça” in Qerekë of Kruja.

This school consists of 10 classrooms, 3 laboratories, a gym and sports grounds as well as a psychologist’s room. The educational facility has been built up to Eurocode 8 and Building Back Better standards.

The location of the new school guarantees safety, healthy environment surrounded by the greenery. Its venues will be used by the whole community for sports and cultural activities, while the library for reading. Laboratories equipped with teaching tools will improve the quality of teaching.
