TIRANA, August 22/ATA/ During the summer season Eni, Mikaela and Ema are making their voluntarily contribution to the service of visitors at the “Onufri” National Iconographic Museum.

Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja highlighted the example of three girls from Berat, who with great dedication have helped visitors with orientation inside the museum and observation of the exhibition halls, as a useful support for the staff during this period when the number of visitors increases significantly.

The engagement of the three girls was made possible within the framework of policies that promote volunteering among young people from Berat municipality and the Directorate of Education, Culture and Youth, based on an agreement with the Berat Museum Center.

“Through volunteer work the young people explore their areas of interest while contributing to the community,” said Gonxhja.

At the end of their voluntary service, the girls will receive a letter of reference detailing their contribution to this useful commitment.

The Iconographic Museum “Onufri” is visited every year by thousands of local and foreign tourists. This museum bears the name of one of the masters of Albanian painting of the 16th century; it was built on the ruins of a church rebuilt in 1797 in the “Kala” neighborhood, which was the city’s cathedral, the most representative monument of post-Byzantine architecture in the city of Berat. /k.s/a.f/p.s./
