TIRANA, May 8 /ATA/ Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, stated today that the Vlora bypass is set to open in the first week of July and be ready for the tourist season.

During the inspection in the bypass of Vlora, where work continues uninterruptedly for completion of this facility, Balluku said that “today we are inspecting the bypass of Vlora, in a part that we have not seen before, since it has always been out of the attention of the citizens who have accessed this road from the period of June to October 1 using the passage inside Kanina, while we work in the area below to create what is needed, the small bypass of Kanina within the bypass of Vlora. ”

The director of ARA, Ervis Berberi said that “we are at kilometer 19900, the area that starts without going up to Kanina and the work so far entails mass excavations, protection of slopes, treatment of all waters. We have worked on protection of the slopes at a height of over 20 meters and drainage because we have problems with water. ”

“Apart from the excavations and reinforcement of the slopes, we have also started work with the road layers and very soon we will start the asphalting of this area to run in parallel with some processes”, said Berberi.

“Since all the problems have been solved, the bypass will be officially open, we have followed the same practice as in Fier bypass, one year we opened only one lane for use during summer and then we closed it to deliver the following year completed. The same practice is being followed in Vlora bypass, ” Balluku underlined.

The completion of this important work eases traffic, highlights the view of the city of Vlora and shortens the travel time to the south of Albania.
