TIRANA, April  28  /ATA/ The Vjosa River welcomes, from today until Sunday, citizens to celebrate and enjoy it for the first time as a National Park

Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, announced that “the “Vjosa N’Fest” project will come with lots of surprises and events, but above all with a lot of love.”

The project entitled “Vjosa n’Fest” aims to promote natural and cultural tourism initiatives through adventure, handicrafts and cuisine, as a strategy for the preservation of biodiversity along the Vjosa valley, but also for the further development of the area.

The three day festival features marathon activities in several centers of the city of Përmet. “Vjosa N’Fest” will be held on April 28, 29 and 30, which coincides with the opening of the tourist season on May 1.

The designation of the Vjosa River as a “National Park” has made the protection of environment a priority. As a result, tourism has become a unifying goal, with the potential to grow the area into a competitive tourist destination in the national, regional and global market.
