TIRANA, May 19 /ATA/ Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, shared on Monday a photo album on social media from International Museum Day, which was a day full of activities at our cultural sites.

Minister Gonxhja stated that yesterday, cultural sites across the country welcomed over 5,000 visitors.
The activities dedicated to International Museum Day were organized at archaeological sites, museum centers, and more. The Directorate of Regional Tourism and Culture (DRTK) of Gjirokastra, in partnership with the Municipality of Gjirokastra and students from the History, Anthropology, and Geography departments of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gjirokastra, organized an event titled: “The Future of Museums in Communities that are Rapidly Changing,” at the Ethnographic Museum of Gjirokastra.

On this day, the National Museum Center in Berat held open discussions and insightful meetings with academics, artists, and young people, with the goal of strengthening ties between the museum and local stakeholders who share a passion for history, art, and national cultural heritage.

For International Museum Day, the Shkodër and Lezhë Archaeological Parks offered free entry to all local and international visitors from 09:00 to 19:00.

The “Creativity of Illustrated Ideas on Canvas” activity was organized in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Vlora, the National Museum of Independence, and students from the “Naim Frashëri” 9-year school in Vlora.

This inspiring collaboration once again highlights the importance of education through culture and the irreplaceable role that museums play in creating a more conscious and creative society.
