Abazovic has proposed a joint visit to Kiev by Western Balkan prime ministers, especially from NATO member countries in the region, in order to send a strong and unique message of support from the Western Balkans for the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine.

According to vijesti.mme, the prime ministers of Albania and North Macedonia, Edi Rama and Dimitar Kovacevski, have accepted Abazovic’s proposal and a date remains to be agreed upon.

During a telephone conversation with Zelensky, the Montenegrin prime minister stressed that his country has offered full support for Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty.

He stressed that “Montenegro fully supports the European Union’s position on the Russian occupation of Ukraine.”

Abazovic also stressed that he “hopes that Ukraine will receive candidate status for EU membership” and that “Montenegro, as a leader in the negotiation process, is ready to provide the necessary assistance.”
