TIRANA, March  13 /ATA/- Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has visited the Suk-Roskovec Health Center in Fier, rehabilitated up to the standards.

“Today we are in Suk, we saw first-hand how the program for infrastructure rehabilitation of the health centers, with the support of our partners, has strengthened the primary health care service. A center which caters to more than 4,500 residents,” said Manastirliu.

Together with the doctors of this center, Minister Manastirliu has informed the citizens that the diabetes test strips for the elderly over 65 years old will be reimbursed by the state.

“Free diabetes test strips for people over 65 years old, those on therapy receive 50 strips for 4 months, while those on insulin therapy receive 50 strips every month” – the doctor of the Suk health center.

Manastirliu touched on the socio-health services, adding that 50 psychologists and social workers will join primary care.

“Socio-health services are another aspect that we have included in our integrated health and social care program with the involvement of 50 psychologists and social workers throughout the country.”
