Osmani underlined that if such a measure is taken against the people of Kosovo, no one will have a mandate to go to Brussels for dialogue.
However, Osmani said that she does not believe that the decision to lift the visa regime will be suspended, adding that Kosovo has deserved the visa free travel regime, which is expected to kick in on January 1, 2024.

“I would say that this is the most effective way to kill the dialogue once and for all. If someone wants to bring dialogue to rest, such measures are the most effective way, as they are punitive measures against the people of Kosovo. They are not taken against any leader, they are not against a policy, they are taken against the people of Kosovo. And such an unprecedented punishment, which has been a great injustice for the people of Kosovo, will result in dead dialogue. There is no longer anyone in Kosovo with a mandate to go to Brussels, when the people of Kosovo are being punished. I strongly believe that it will not happen, Kosovo has met the criteria,” said Osmani.

Osmani made this statement after the homage at the memorial dedicated to the missing war dead, after she was asked about the attitude of the French president, Emmanuel Macron, who said on August 28 that his country will review the commitments on economic issues and visa rules for Kosovo and Serbia, if they do not behave responsibly.
