TIRANA, November 9/ATA/ Experienced inspectors in using the TRACES system (System of Control and Trade Experts) have trained the new inspectors of the National Food Authority and the Veterinary Institute, for the “control of the import of alive animals” in order to unify the control at all Points of Border Crossing, according to the EU standards.

The use of the TRACES System, the veterinary certification tool in the system, used by the European Union for the import of alive animals and products of animal origin, inside and outside its borders, is an important international system which guarantees the safety of the consumer.

During the training, detailed and accurate information was given about the standards that must be met in the production of plants, agricultural products and alive animals, in order to perform a better and faster control in the border crossing point.

This network is under the responsibility of the European Commission and is a key element in how the EU facilitates trade and improves consumer health protection./r.e/p.s./
