The artists of the Regio di Parma theater as well as the Albanian artists have put on stage the oldest work. This opera is the materialization of the protocol of cooperation between the two theaters.

What makes this setting of Verdi’s four-act opera unique is the Italian scenographic heritage, which dates back to 109 years ago and was accidentally discovered in the warehouses of the Teatro Regio di Parma, without anyone knowing about its existence and values. After the restoration that took a year, it appeared in Italy where Albanian tenor Saimir Pirgu interpreted the protagonist.

“Ball with Masks” will be played on June 2, 3 and 4 on the stage of Opera House.

The cooperation between Teatro Regio Di Parma and Opera House will continue in the next two years with the operas “Traviata” and “Rigoleto”.

Minister of Culture Elva Margariti, Director of Opera and Ballet House Zana Çela and Albanian and foreign artists appeared today in a press conference to mark the occasion.

“We are very pleased to celebrate together putting on stage of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet of this work that comes as cooperation between the Opera and Ballet House and Teatro Regio Di Parma. A wide staff of artists and support staff, Albanian and foreign, have come together to produce a great show”, said Margariti in a post on social media.

This is a cooperation product, said Margariti that certainly would not have been crowned without the major investment that has been made in this theater.

“This show also marks the opening of the Italian Cultural Week, which will be followed by a rich calendar of activities,” said Margariti.

From May 31 to June 7, there will take place the Cultural Week of Italy in several cities of Albania. This week takes place in the framework of “International Culture Weeks”, an initiative of the Albanian government with the motto “Albania welcomes the world”, which is attended by 17 different countries and countries of the European Union.
