In a statement posted on social media, Demo said the talks focused on strengthening democratic standards, transparency and institutional accountability as key principles for improving governance at all levels, including local government.

“Cooperation with international partners remains important in advancing reforms that serve citizens and contribute to stronger institutions,” Demo said.

A delegation from the Venice Commission is currently visiting Tirana, where it is holding meetings with senior state officials and opposition representatives.
