In his speech, Minister of Defense emphasized that this year, 500 Albanian soldiers will be deployed on missions abroad.

“On the 16th anniversary of our membership in the most powerful and enduring alliance in modern history, we find ourselves in a completely different position. There is no better symbol of this resurgence than the Special Forces Regiment we are gathered at today. This resurgence is threefold: first, in the political realm of security and defense cooperation. In the region, we have demonstrated our ability to lead initiatives that promote stability and Euro-Atlantic integration. Our alignment with the EU is not only through words but also through actions, especially in military engagement. This year, 500 Albanian soldiers will be deployed on missions abroad. Finally, we are witnessing a transformation in the operational capabilities of our combat forces, as demonstrated today,” stated Vengu.

“In my capacity as the leader of this defense team, I want to honor the work, effort, and sacrifice of every service member, your families, and, of course, the dedication and high sense of responsibility you demonstrate every day throughout the entire chain of command of the Armed Forces and Civil Emergencies. It is a fact that, in the past two years, defense and security no longer struggle with financial resources or underinvestment.
