Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by the mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, saw first-hand the works being carried out on the side of this project.

“It took its time and imagine the time wasted in dealing with those who stood against it, digging into prosecution records whether the ancient Durrës will be touched or not by this project. Whenever an innovative work gets started, they will put a spoke in our wheel for sure. From the time I was at the helm of municipality until today, not a single job was done without them getting in our way, without them making allegations. Yet again, this work will completed any time soon and the children’s day celebrations on June 1 will take place here,” Rama said.

Rama said that Veliera project was hindered by all kinds of patriots, historians, ecologists, scientists and politicians.

According to Rama, Veliera is shaping up day by day.

“An architectural masterpiece, which creates a new public space for the city’s pedestrians, the numerous visitors and tourists, as well as another postcard of Albania’s Tourism Renaissance,” Rama said.

Veliera will be not only a new touristic attraction, on the eve of this season, but also a public space for events or concerts. /k.s/r.e/sm/
