Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj visited Sunday the social centre “Strehëza” in Shkoza and the individuals housed in the centre after the municipal ground teams cared and provided them a warm place and food.

Mayor Veliaj said it is extremely important that needy citizens and homeless people are provided shelter and proper conditions over these extremely cold days.

“We can rebuild roads and recover the plants, but people are not recoverable. This is the reason why we have placed special attention to homeless people in particular. As you saw for yourself, out of 20 homeless people who were brought to the centre last night only two of them are from Tirana and the rest come from other cities across the country,” Veliaj said.

He called on the families of these individuals to care and keep their beloved family members close, whule adding that five social centres are made available to help such individuals.
