Mayor Veliaj, also the political head of the electoral campaign of the Socialist Party for Tirana district, added that Basha is the only leader to take the party’s leadership with 43 MPs, while the main opposition is represented by nobody in the country’s parliament and institutions.

“Two years ago today the opposition renounced the parliamentary mandates. Why one should vote for the DP, which was represented by 43 MPs, while it has now become non-existent. DP was represented by 25 mayors, and it is now represented by nobody in the local government. We also included them in the cabinet in 2017 and they fared even worse in the elections,” Veliaj said.

Tirana Mayor stated that Lulzim Basha was the first one to benefit through his accusations and attacks against the so-called oligarchs.

He said that the Socialist Party has the moral, social and historic strength to successfully run in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
