Veliaj assures that “this situation will be managed, without panic and with solidarity”, while sharing pictures of all the municipality teams working on the ground.

As the storm continues unabated in Tirana, the mayor Erion Veliaj has repeated the appeal to the citizens to minimize the movements.

“Please avoid unnecessary movements until the rainwater drains and our teams remove dozens of trees fallen during the heavy rainfall! As ever, even this time we will manage without panic and in solidarity this situation, which caused fatalities in the neighboring country! Watch out the elderly and children! Gratitude to the troops on the ground”, writes Veliaj.
Storm Ciarán has brought strong winds and record rainfall to France, the Channel Islands and southern England, leaving more than a million people without power and forcing hundreds of schools to close. Even in Italy rivers burst the banks, causing mayhem in the cities.
