TIRANA, Dec 28 /ATA/ The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, responded on Saturday following the statements made by the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who claimed that Veliaj had left for an unknown direction.

In a social media post, Veliaj denied Berisha’s claims, emphasizing that he is going to the United States for meetings as the Mayor of Tirana and that he will return in two days.

“After spreading the news that I fled Albania, since one of your bugs saw me on the plane, I am going to the US, for meetings that I have scheduled for a long time, because I am the mayor of Tirana, and I am not designated like you, the scum of history.

“I will not leave Albania, because I came from the US when I was 20 years younger, to get my country out of the mud where you and your friends were sinking it! And neither the anonymous letters, like those during the party era, which made you the persecutor you are today all day long, bend me, nor anyone else who quenches their lusts on the screens and streets of Tirana, dealing with my family, nor sick fantasies dressed in carnival costumes of this story of mine in the court of screens and social networks”, Veliaj writes in his post.

“I will return in two days, and with unyielding patience, I will wait for my turn, because I am not a coward like you, who when SPAK deals with you and your corrupt associates, it is the ‘SKAP’ of the party, but when it deals with me and my family, it is the SPAK of justice! I know the order of things, and now it is the special prosecutor’s turn to do whatever they want, and then my turn will come to say what needs to be said,” Veliaj emphasized.
