The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, welcomed in his office the singer whom he highly appreciated for his achievements in music and presented him with the “Clock Tower” in recognition of his work.

“I have followed you since you were a child and you are the epitome of hard work and determined efforts. A family that has sacrificed a lot to raise you, but their sacrifice has been rewarded. While seeing both you and Angela perform in Eurosong, the first thought that came to my mind was: Only Albanians can have two representatives,” Veliaj said.

Referring to Gjoni’s career, Veliaj said that it is the best example that everything can be achieved through hard work.

“I am very proud of you and I really want you to be an example for other boys and girls. You are the example that someone has to work non-stop for those 3 minutes in Eurovision, 13 years for those 3 minutes, so I wish you a lot of success.
