“I don’t think there would be a more beautiful and better moment to end this year of Tirana the European Youth Capital and the anniversary of Independence with Albania’s newest citizen, Dua Lipa. Dua had an extraordinary tour, “Future Nostalgia”, which ends in Tirana. This city has hosted so many activities and unleashed so much positive energy, but this is the grand finale for us as well. She has just returned from a tour to New Zealand, Australia, California, 27 hours to arrive in Tirana, so we have all the positive energy to throw a super party today for Independence. I want to wish a welcome to all those who have come from Kosovo, the Presevo Valley, Montenegro. We will have a great time today,” Veliaj told the joint press conference with the singer Dua Lipa.

The mayor also said that joint projects like “Sunny Hill” will be a long-running brand in Tirana.

“We are thinking about what novelties to introduce, such as the culture of quality music and branding of Tirana as a city of art and culture. We have been the European youth capital, next year we will be the European City of Sport. We want to turn some activities tested this year into a long-running brand of Tirana and create the image of a city that resonates art and culture. If you checked out the British media today, by the way I read the Daily Mail, The Guardian, they all spoke very positively about Dua and her Albanian citizenship. As Dua said, only a gesture is not enough. The good news should come repeatedly from one place. That’s why we are working on the second season of Sunny Hill Albania,” said Veliaj. /j.p/sm/
