Vata/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Monday that small business in Albania pays zero VAT, while countries in the region pay from 17% – 21%.

Rama says that the government protects small business and households from soaring energy prices.

“Here is the VAT burden on the small business, which we will continue to protect from soaring energy prices, just as we are protecting all the households like nowhere else for the sake of truth,” he said.

Rama published the VAT table for small business in the region, according to which, Albania charges 0%, Bosnia and Herzegovina 17%, Kosovo 18%, Montenegro 21%, North Macedonia 18% and Serbia 20%.
