The classical ballet “Sleeping Beauty” was performed on the stage of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” Theater. The performance of the Bulgarian dancers electrified the hall through their elegant movements. The show was a gift to the seaside town and a way to promote the beautiful art of ballet and classical music.

Earlier, the same show was staged at the Opera and Ballet House in Tirana. The triumph of love over evil attracted the attention of loyal opera audiences, while the tickets were sold out in record time.

Albania’s National Opera and Ballet House posted today in the social media a video from the participation of Albanian ensemble in the festival.

The Opera and Ballet House appreciated that the ensemble has represented Albania with dignity along other countries. The Albanian ensemble performed among other pieces even the “Eagle’s Dance”, a masterpiece of Albanian folklore conveying the values of our culture.

Thus, Giacomo Puccini’s “Il trittico” composed of three one-act operas was put on stage in the coastal city of Varna, Bulgaria. The piece was directed by Ada Gurra and conducted by maestro Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli. The art-loving public of the Bulgarian city also enjoyed the performance of soprano Dorina Selimaj on April 22 and 24.

Selimaj managed to convey the drama and passion of “Il trittico” full of emotions along with baritone Plamen Dimitrov, as well as prominent international soloists, such as Kiril Manolov, Linka Stoyanova, Reynaldo Droz, Zhana Kostova and others, the choir and orchestra of the Theater of Varna.

During the June-July period, two Ballet and Opera House productions, “Samsone et Dalila” and “La Boheme”, will be staged at the Varna Theater under the direction of maestro Sipari./p.s./

The interpretation of the mezzo-soprano of the Opera and Ballet House of Tirana Ivana Hoxha was also amazing. She made her vocal debut in Varna, a worthy Amneris, for such a magnificent work.

This was the second success of Albanian artists, after the one in Tirana, where the opera performance was praised highly. The opera “Aida” gathered a lot of local and foreign spectators in Tirana. Right after this success, Assistance-Director Ada Gurra went to Varna to work with the Bulgarian artists for the staging of Verdi’s opera.
