The children who live in this Administrative Unit will access the same conditions and standards as the schools in the center of the capital.

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected the works on the new school “Bedri Llagami,” which will be delivered in the second school semester, joining the pool of 12 new schools that are set to open their doors this school year.

“With the “Bedri Llagami” school, we are making a real revolution in Vaqarr. The revolution started when we introduced kindergarten and nursery services. Then, as part of the reconstruction, the new neighborhood in Vaqarr has been populated mainly with residents who are indeed from the former municipality of Vaqarr, but from more peripheral and remote areas. Then the argument was: Coming close to the national road, being only one bus stop away from the Kombinat, while still tending the lands, olive groves, orchards, livestock they may have in these remote areas, a chance is given especially to children, not only to live in an area much closer to civilization and urbanization, but also to access education up to standards,” said Veliaj.

With the investment in education, every family living in the Administrative Unit will already access all the necessary services and infrastructure.

“This school, which is a united school (9-year school, high school, preschool and kindergarten), the administrative unit, the cultural center and the new neighborhood, that is, in one square kilometer, actually offers everything a child needs to grow up in a dignified manner, with all the optimal conditions, such as in the center of Tirana,” said Veliaj.

The mayor of Tirana explained that together with the Kombinat schools, which are also new and reconstructed, this school not only eases overcrowding in classrooms also caused by two- shift teaching, but also makes room for the further expansion of the Vaqarri neighborhood, which is inevitable amid the infrastructural transformation.
