PRISTINA, Oct 15 /ATA/ – The Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans’ Organisation (OVL-UÇK) today condemned the misuse of the flag bearing the KLA emblem in acts of vandalism.
In a statement posted on social media, the organisation said the symbol honours Kosovo’s liberation struggle, the nation’s fallen heroes and the freedom achieved through their sacrifice.
“The flag must never be used to justify, associate with or conceal acts that damage public or private property.
“Every citizen has the right to protest, but no grievance, however profound, justifies linking the KLA flag to violence, destruction or looting. We urge all protest organisers and participants to preserve the dignity and sanctity of this symbol,” the organisation said.
