TIRANA, April 14 /ATA/ Chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley Enkel Rexhepi said to the IV Diaspora Summit that the Albanian diaspora is an essential national force, yet the persistent challenges faced by residents in the Presheva Valley demand immediate attention.

Speaking at the panel “Diaspora and representative democracy in the Albanian space: from votes to institutional representation”, Rexhepi emphasized that the Albanians of the Presheva Valley face numerous challenges related to fundamental rights and institutional representation.

One of the main issues raised by Rexhepi was the systematic deactivation of Albanian addresses as a bureaucratic tactic aimed at reducing their numbers in official state records.

“The systematic passivation of addresses is stripping ethnic Albanians of their fundamental rights—including voting, property ownership, and access to public services—requiring immediate international intervention”, he said.

Rexhepi also raised concerns about the non-recognition of diplomas, describing this as a serious obstacle to the development of young people in the Valley.

“A young person who graduates faces an unfair reality because his diploma is not recognized. This is not a technical issue, but a form of exclusion that affects the future of an entire generation,” he said.

Speaking about the economic situation, Rexhepi said that unemployment and difficult economic conditions are affecting the continued migration of Albanians from Presheva Valley.

He also raised the issue of agreements signed between Albanian representatives and Serbian institutions, emphasizing that they have not been implemented in practice.

“None of the signed agreements have been implemented, despite the presence of the international factor. This has blocked support for agriculture and education,” Rexhepi stressed.

In conclusion of his speech, he called for greater engagement of the Albanian diaspora and institutions in protecting the rights of Albanians in the region. /gj.m/j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, December 26 /ATA/ The Valbona Valley, part of the Albanian Alps National Park, is one of the most frequented destinations by domestic and foreign tourists in every season of the year.

Being a relaxing oasis at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, the Valbona National Park has numerous visitors all-year round.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media a view of the Valbona National Park and the alpine lodges, now covered by snow.

This area of rare beauty is preferred not only by the local tourists, but also by foreign tourists who get acquainted with the customs or traditions of the northernmost villages of the country.

The nature of this park offers opportunities for year-round tourism. In the interior of the Park, there are many interesting caves, of which the Dragobi Cave stands out. It has a mountainous climate with harsh winters and heavy rainfall and low temperatures, as well as long periods of frost and wind.

One can find everyday in the tourist spot of Valbona numerous visitors from different countries of the world, as well as others from different parts of the country and Kosovo. Valbona has earned a good reputation as a tourist area, through the hospitality and tranquility it offers.

During the winter season, the snowfall transforms the park into a magical place, while the road is constantly maintained to enable uninterrupted circulation of visitors.

Valbona National Park offers a complexity of interesting beauties, just like the Albanian Alps themselves.

Valbona Valley was declared a National Park in January 1996. This park has an area of 8000 hectares and is considered the miracle of the Alps.

It is located 25-30 km northwest of the city of Bajram Curri, the center of the Tropoja district.

It borders the Theth National Park and the protected natural area of “Gashi River”. Its territory is crossed by the Bajram Curri-Dragobi-Valbona and Çerem highway.

It has high and steep peaks and changes its color palette with each season, presenting an extraordinary dynamic of images in the conditions of a valley full of surprises and many labyrinths. /m.m//a.f/p.s./

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media views of the Valbona River in autumn.

“You could hear the Valbona River gurgling down in the valley as the first sun’s rays of the day light the whole valley”, wrote Rama in a post in the social media.

Autumn with the warm temperatures has brought on a magical atmosphere, while the shades of the earth’s colors have covered the entire Valbona valley.

The valley of Valbona is the most visited tourist area in the district of Tropoja, even one of the most visited in the Albanian Alps after the valley of Theth.

This area of rare beauty is preferred not only by local tourists, but also by foreign tourists, who would like to get acquainted with the customs and traditions of the northernmost villages of the country.

The nature of this park is rich in varieties suitable for tourism, fishing and mountaineering. In the inner part of the Park there are many interesting caves, of which the Dragobi Cave stands out. It has a mountainous climate with harsh winters, abundant rainfall and low temperatures, as well as long periods of frost and wind.

Many visitors from different countries of the world, as well as others from Kosovo, are present every day and all year-round in the tourist spot of Valbona, a tourist area that has earned a good reputation, through the hospitality and tranquility it offers.

The trip starts via Drini River to Tropoja and then Valbona is just 45 minutes away.

The blue color of Valbona is like no other river. As you travel, the color of the river fascinates you, while on both sides rise the high mountains that, even at the beginning of summer, continue to have their peaks covered with snow. /p.s./

TIRANA, October 14/ATA/ Albania’s Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro held today a meeting with Mayor of Presevo Valley Ardita Sinani. The talks focused on materialization of bilateral cooperation.

“We spoke the same language and talked about concrete joint projects,” said Kumbaro.

“We are all eyes and ears to help Albanian-majority communes and municipalities everywhere in the region, but also to learn from them, because there is always room to do things better together,” she said.

This cooperation comes even more naturally, because as Kumbaro put it, “the environment does not recognize administrative boundaries.”

“Therefore, we must cooperate in every space to protect nature, but also to develop the potentials it offers us,” she stressed./p.s./
