Health Minister also urged citizens who have already received the first dose to report at the health care centres or the mass vaccination sites in order to receive the second jab.

Manastirliu announced that another shipment of Pfizer vaccine is scheduled to arrive later on the day after around 100,000 doses of Coronavac vaccine were delivered at the weekend.

“With the 100,000 doses of Coronavac vaccine already delivered in last two days, more than 1.06 million doses have arrived in the country so far. In the meantime, we expect another delivery of over 11,000 dozes of Pfizer vaccine to arrive today,” Manastirliu said.

Health Minister appealed for vigilance despite the improving epidemiological situation.

“It is true we are experiencing a controlled situation of the epidemic. Only three patients are currently being treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital. So, as the figures show and our public health experts confirm, the situation is fully under control, but we still need to remain vigilant. We should also take advantage of the current situation to administer as many vaccine doses as possible,” she added.

A total of 1,067,950 doses of coronavirus vaccines have arrived in the country to date. As many as 880,912 people have been vaccinated, with 365,028 of them having received both doses of the vaccine.

Vaccination is taking place in line with all safety and quality standards by a trained team of vaccinators countrywide.
