“There are more than 29 thousand citizens who have received services in summer health centers, 8 thousand of them are foreign tourists who have come and accessed the health service in the territory during the tourist season, from the moment these centers have opened on June 15, ” – said Manastirliu.

Other than the summer health centers, there are 14 National Emergency post-stations, which are on standby to handle any medical emergency.

Minister of Health said that summer health centers have reduced the influx of hospital cases, providing emergency services to the tourists.

“The program of summer health centers has reduced the influx of hospital cases. Of 29 thousand citizens who have received services, less than 3% have been referred to hospitals, which means that the citizens have been attended to in these centers, ” said Manastirliu.

From the health center in Dhërmi, Minister of Health informed that more than 60% of high-risk population over 50 years of age has already been vaccinated, appealing to all citizens over 18 years old to receive the jab as soon as possible during this open month of vaccination.

“In Albania there are 1.8 million doses of various vaccines available, so I invite citizens to use the month of August which is open to vaccination of +18 years with more than 100,000 shots administered in the first 13 days of August alone,” – Manastirliu said.
