USD gains ground against lek today

TIRANA, August 7/ATA/ On Friday, the US dollar strengthened against the Albanian lek to 80.86 lekë (+0.09), while the euro edged up slightly to 93.19 lekë (+0.01). Meanwhile, the British pound dropped to 108.65 lekë (-0.06) and the Swiss franc decreased to 99.79 lekë (-0.05), according to the Bank of Albania.

USD gets stronger in hard currency market, while Euro depreciates

TIRANA, April 29/ATA/ In the local foreign currency exchange market, on Monday the Albanian Lek strengthened its position against the euro and depreciated against the US dollar, compared to the weekend.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the American dollar is exchanged at 94.05 Lekë or 0.07 Lekë more and the euro decreased by 0.08 Lekë, being quoted at the value of 100.78 Lekë.

Meanwhile, the British pound and Swiss franc gained ground against the Lek earlier this week. The British currency is exchanged at 117.79 Lekë or 0.23 Lekë more, while the Swiss franc, compared to the weekend, went up by 0.20 Lekë and is exchanged at 103.24 Lekë.

Euro gets stronger in its exchange with Lek, but USD depreciates

TIRANA, August 8/ATA/ In the domestic foreign currency exchange market, on Tuesday the European currency gained points against the Lek, while the American dollar depreciated by Lek 0.01. According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the euro has increased by 0.03 lekë in the exchange rate to 103.65 lekë, after a decline of several days in a row in the local market.

Actors of this market say that the changes in the foreign exchange values are expected and within the forecasts, implying that the foreign exchange market is guided by the performance of the international stock exchanges, but also demand-supply in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, the British pound rose by 0.09 Lekë and is exchanged at 120.26 Lekë and the Swiss franc increased by 0.19 Lekë and is exchanged at 107.99 Lekë./p.s./

Hard currencies strengthen in their exchange with Lek

TIRANA, June 12 /ATA/ On Monday, in the local foreign currency exchange market, the foreign currencies strengthened their positions versus Lek, compared to yesterday.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the US dollar strengthened by 0.49 Lekë and is exchanged at 98.56 Lekë, while the euro rose to the rate of 106.26 Lekë, or 0.64 Lekë more than at the weekend.

The position of the British pound has also strengthened by 1.15 Lekë. Thus, the British currency is exchanged at 124.12 Lekë while the Swiss franc rose by 0.37 Lekë and is exchanged at 109.23 Lekë.

The other currencies have also increased in value today in exchange with the Lek./p.s./

Albanian Lek strengthened by 7.7% versus USD at foreign currency exchange market

TIRANA, May 13 /ATA/ In the first months of the current year, the Albanian Lek has also strengthened against the US dollar in the foreign currency exchange market like it did against the Euro.

The Bank of Albania said that the US dollar was quoted on average at 106.9 Lekë and 103.1 Lekë in the months of March and April, from 108.0 Lekë in the first two months of the year and 114.5 Lekë in the fourth quarter of last year.

According to the Central Bank, this trend, beyond the weakening of the USD against the euro in the international market, reflects to a large extent the appreciation of the Lek against the latter.

In April, one dollar was quoted on average 7.7% lower than last year.

Meanwhile, this weekend the American currency is exchanged at the level of 101.61 Lekë or 0.36 Lekë more than on Thursday.

USD gets stronger versus Lek while Euro loses ground

TIRANA, April 18 /ATA/ In the domestic foreign exchange market, on Tuesday, the US dollar strengthened its position against the Lek, compared to Monday, while the euro lost ground.

The approach of the tourist season has brought a high supply of the European currency, leaning more and more towards a further devaluation of the euro.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the USD strengthened by 0.62 Lekë and is exchanged at 102.62 Lekë, while the euro decreased by 0.25 Lekë and is exchanged at 112.63 Lekë.

If compared to the same period last year, the exchange rate of the euro against the Lek has depreciated by approximately 7%.

The British pound, compared to yesterday, was overvalued by 0.02 Lekë, rising to the quote of 127.61 Lekë.

Meanwhile, the Swiss franc is exchanged at 114.51 Lekë or 0.39 Lekë less than on Monday./p.s./

TIRANA, January 31/ATA/ On Tuesday, in the local foreign currency exchange market, the US dollar strengthened its position against the Albanian Lek, compared to yesterday, while the euro lost ground.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the USD strengthened by 0.84 Lekë and is exchanged at 107.72 Lekë, while the euro decreased by 0.07 points and is exchanged at 116.55 Lekë.

If compared to yesterday, the British pound lost 0.02 Lekë, going down to the rate of 132.65 Lekë.

The Swiss franc is exchanged at 116.07 Lekë, or 0.31 Lekë less than at the beginning of the week.

Euro gets stronger, but USD depreciates versus Lek

TIRANA, October 18 /ATA/ On Tuesday, in the local foreign currency exchange market, the Albanian Lek continued to strengthen its position against the US dollar for the second day in a row and depreciated against the euro if compared yesterday.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the US dollar is exchanged at 118.87 Lekë or 0.97 Lekë less, and the euro has slightly strengthened its position by 0.08 Lekë, being quoted at 116.99 Lekë.

Today, the British pound and the Swiss franc are in the same positions in exchange with the Lek. The British currency is exchanged at 134.18 Lekë or 0.96 Lekë less and the Swiss franc dropped to 119.50 Lekë or 0.16 Lekë less than yesterday.

TIRANA, October 4 /ATA/ In the local foreign currency exchange market, on Tuesday, the euro slightly strengthened its positions in relation to the Lek, after the decline it recorded for several days in a row, while the US dollar lost ground compared to yesterday.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the USD decreased by 0.85 Lekë and is exchanged at 118.47 Lekë, while the euro strengthened by 0.29 Lekë and is exchanged at 116.94 Lekë.

If compared to Monday, the British pound rose by 0.77 Lekë and is exchanged at the rate of 134.25 Lekë.

Meanwhile, the Swiss franc is exchanged at 119.84 Lekë, or 0.71 Lekë less than yesterday.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the USD strengthened by 0.74 points and is exchanged at 117.86 Lekë, while the euro decreased by 0.18 points and is exchanged at 117.00 Lekë.

If compared to yesterday, the British pound strengthened by 0.35 Lekë, rising to the quota of 138.62 Lekë.

Meanwhile, the Swiss franc is exchanged at 121.97 Lekë, or 0.03 Lekë less than on Monday.
