TIRANA, Jan  5 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ US ambassador Yuri Kim met on Thursday with the new chief prosecutor of SPAK,  Altin Dumani, to congratulate him on his new leadership position.

She reiterated that the United States will continue to strongly support the implementation of justice reform, which is a requirement for Albania’s aspiration to join the European Union. In this respect and in furtherance of President Biden’s identification of the fight against corruption as a core national security interest for the United States, we will fully support SPAK prosecutors and investigators as they build on the success achieved so far and intensify prosecution of high-level corruption and organized crime, in accordance with the law, without fear or favor. No one is above the law.

This is Ambassador Kim’s first visit to SPAK, after the election of the new chief prosecutor of this institution.
