During the meeting at the U.S. Congress, the two sides highlighted Washington’s longstanding support for Albania and underscored the strength of the Albania-U.S. Strategic Partnership as a key pillar of bilateral relations.

Peleshi and Self also discussed U.S. engagement in supporting democratic reforms, as well as joint contributions to peace and security in the region and beyond, describing these as central elements of cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by lawmakers from across Albania’s political spectrum, including Socialist Party MPs Damian Gjiknuri and Ilir Pendavinji, Democratic Party parliamentary group chair Gazment Bardhi, Republican Party leader Fatmir Mediu, and Democratic Party lawmaker Belind Këlliçi.
