TIRANA, April 23 /ATA/ The Albanian Development Fund is implementing in the village of Plug, the project on the road connecting this area to the highway. The road, around 3 km at length, will be fully refurbished.

Deputy PM, Belinda Balluku, accompanied by the Mayor of Lushnja, Eriselda Sefa, and engineers of ADF inspected the works which have been carried out at the extent of nearly 25 percent.
Sefa stated that a contract has been signed with the Albanian Development Fund, and following the completion of road surfacing works, the project will advance to the construction phase of a 1.1-kilometer pedestrian walkway along the left flank of the roadway, extending to the central area of Plug village. This project aims to upgrade the infrastructure and promote the urban development of the locality.

The contract stipulates that the works are set to be completed by September of this year, thereby serving all residents of the area, especially farmers. “Here, roads play a very important and vital role, not only in connecting administrative units but also the agricultural plots. On the other hand, they are crucial for the movement of agricultural goods—particularly in the afternoon hours when collectors start operating and farmers head toward them—so it is essential to provide the necessary infrastructure,” said Balluku.

The completion of the project with urban elements such as sidewalks and lighting addresses the residents’ demands while also improving the urbanization of the area.

“We’re not solely focused on road construction; this infrastructure project is being complemented with essential urban features like sidewalks, landscaping, and lighting—elements that are especially vital for this area,” Balluku stated. /sm/
